Red Florentine Gourd Shard Necklace Set has a pattern I saw on an iron door in Florence, Italy. The metal beads I bought there at a thief’s market. Then to make it unique, I added real gourd seeds to the shard and the earrings. This one makes a great statement and is fun to wear.
The shard is 4 inches wide and 3 inches high and it has no weight. The pattern was wood burned first and then dyed with red and gold. The antique gold chain hanging about 11 inches from the neck was quite a challenge putting all the bead choices together. But it is a lovely result I know you will enjoy wearing it to a special event. Just wear it on a plain color and make that outfit special and the best part is you will not know you have it on.
