Asian Dragon Gourd Shard Necklace Set

The Asian Dragon Gourd Necklace started off as a challenge when I saw the embellishment and the shard together. First I saved this odd shape gourd shard because it looked interesting.  I looked at it for days on my desk until I found this dragon online and it suddenly appeared in my mind on the shard. A museum-quality, competition, show piece became my aspiration. Slowly the beads and Asian wood block patterns began to take shape and I took weeks woodburning this seven-inch long and 3-inch wide shard.

When I added the 2-inch circle shards I knew it was complete. I have worn this one on a long black shirt and sweater with boots. I stood in the convention reception room drinking wine and soon every woman and a few daring men in the room were complimenting me and wanting to know about gourds. Not sure if I want to sell it, but this price would help me give to another dragon jewelry lover!
