Introducing a one-of-a-kind bright orange and gold star design for my Orange Star Gourd Shard Necklace Set. This unique piece began with the daring act of cutting an eight-pointed star from a scrap of broken gourd, with the interior removed to create a captivating focal point.  Next, the three-inch star shard was wood-burned with woven lines and then painted with metallic acrylic paints. To fill the center, I glued a piece of dried prickly pear cactus fiber to an orange paper and then added a lovely antique brass button.

My shard hangs on a copper chain, allowing it to hang about eleven inches from your neck. The chain includes unusual brass shell beads, a shiny yellow glass bead, and a few wooden beads. I also used these beads to create the dangle at the bottom of the star. And then, I created complementary earrings to make this gourd shard necklace make a stunning statement.  This lightweight necklace, designed to sparkle in the light, is also feather-light, ensuring you won’t feel any weight, allowing you to wear it with comfort and ease.
