My Kokopelli’s Red Chant Gourd Shard Necklace Set is a tribute to the Native American culture of the Southwest. It features a three-inch circular gourd shard, adorned with a wood-burned image of Kokopelli playing his flute on the right, accompanied by pottery designs on the left that symbolize the significance of the color red.
As Kokopelli plays his musical story, I begin my search for beads that will provide contrast to the red tones. First, I incorporate the bright red crosses I bought in Santa Fe. Next, I add heishi bird beads and some metal feathers. Of course, I also include my favorite turquoise-colored beads. The beads are hung on an antique brass-toned chain that measures approximately eleven inches, allowing the dangles to fall perfectly on your chest. I complete the set with earrings made from the red cross beads. Wear this necklace on a dark top and watch it tell its vibrant story of red.
